This year was the 40th annual Apple Festival! Founded by Dorothy Heiks, former director of the chamber of commerce, in the late 1970s as a way to showcase the village community, the two-day event was held in downtown Oak Harbor with all activities located within a one-block walking area.

Activities included the crowning of the 2018-2019 Royalty Court, the baby/toddler contest, the Grand Parade, the cornhole tournament, bingo, the classic car show, the Apple Run, live bands and the talent show.
