5 Reasons to Love Ottawa County

There are many amazing things to love about Ottawa County.

Number One

The first thing to love about Ottawa County is its unique places to visit. You could visit Lake Erie, Put-In-Bay, or the Catawba Islands, just to name a few. There are also other smaller places to visit that are just as fun.

Number Two

The second thing to love about Ottawa county is its beautiful nature. Ottawa county is home to the most eagle nest sightings in Ohio. There have been 90 eagle nests spotted. There are many national wildlife refuges and national parks in Ottawa county where you could visit to spot some eagle nest and enjoy viewing other wildlife.

Number Three

My third thing to love about Ottawa county is their food. For example, there is a restaurant in Genoa called Rayz Cafe. It is family owned. The same family who owns Rayz also own a restaurant in Sandusky called Rayz on the Bay. Ottawa county has many family owned restaurants with great food!

Number Four

My fourth amazing feature about Ottawa County is that it has many historical sites. The Marblehead Lighthouse is the oldest lighthouse in continuous operation on the great lakes. Over on Put-In-Bay, there is a well known monument called Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial. It is one of the two places in Ottawa County that are national protected areas, along with part of the Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge.

Number Five

Lastly, Ottawa County is a great place to raise a family. Most kids who grew up in Ottawa County stay here and raise a family of their own. Ottawa county has a great sense of community and gives a very homey feel.

Ottawa County truly is a great place to raise a family because of the many places to visit, interesting parks, and all the family own restaurants.
