CAREER ENGAGEMENT OPPORTUNITY (CEO) PROGRAM
The CEO Program is designed to give high school students the opportunity to explore a career in their area of interest. You can learn new skills, gain knowledge, and engage in relevant experiences while exploring your career interests – and earn high school credit at the same time.
OTTAWA COUNTY CAREER SHOWCASE
This collaborative effort between private companies and K-12 education provides you with the chance to engage with local companies and learn about career opportunities that exist in the same communities where you live, play, and learn.
Take part in different hands-on activities that demonstrate skill sets necessary to excel in many different careers, from healthcare to CNC machining, engineering, marketing, and more.
OHIOMEANSJOBS - OTTAWA COUNTY
Ottawa County in partnership with OhioMeansJobs exists in order to provide essential information and resources to both employers and job seekers in the community. It is also a space for high school students to fill out their ‘OhioMeansJobs Backpack’ and request interships!
OTTAWA COUNTY IMPROVEMENT CORPORATION
The Ottawa County Improvement Corporation (OCIC) serves as the lead economic development agency by advancing, encouraging, and promoting the industrial, economic, commercial, and civic development of Ottawa County. LAKE ERIE SHORES & ISLANDS
The official destination marketing organization for Erie and Ottawa Counties in Ohio, together known as Ohio’s Lake Erie Shores & Islands, the ideal place to play, live, and work. GREATER OTTAWA COUNTY UNITED WAY
United Way of Greater Toledo, serving Lucas, Wood, and Ottawa Counties, is a nonprofit organization that brings together people, companies and nonprofits to create positive change in our community. They work to solve issues no single donor, charity or government agency can handle alone, to improve lives and strengthen communities.
LEADERSHIP OTTAWA COUNTY
Leadership Ottawa County (LOC) is an annual community leadership development program that brings community members and business leaders together to learn about Ottawa County from an “insider’s perspective,” as well as to share their own unique experiences and backgrounds with one another.
LOC is the perfect place to develop, strengthen, and enrich your leadership skills get more involved in your community!
OTTAWA COUNTY TRADE SKILLS ACADEMY
The Ottawa County Skilled Trades Academy is a comprehensive, credit-based skilled trades program for high school seniors. High school seniors are required to apply to the program and are accepted into the program by a panel of Ottawa County school and business representatives.
Students will complete an OSHA 10-Hour course and receive an OSHA 10-Hour card (industry credential), along with entrepreneurship and ethics components. The purpose of this academy is to educate and expose Ottawa County students to the skills and continuing education needed to fill in-demand jobs in Ohio, with an emphasis on Ottawa County.
